Ministry Partners: Dave & Kenda Moss

The Eve Center offers free peer counseling to women in the Cincinnati area so that no woman has to walk alone through her life struggles. Executive Director Kenda Moss, found healing at the Eve Center herself many years ago as she battled to overcome her own childhood trauma. She credits a supportive family, a strong faith community, and most of all her husband, Dave, for facilitating that healing. “Having somebody like Dave, who loved me through all of that ugliness and was an incredible support through the healing process, was life changing.”  

Recently, Dave and Kenda shared their story at The Marriage School (TMS) and got to experience firsthand the warm atmosphere and effectiveness of the group program. “I love the way The Marriage School is both interactive and educational; safe and vulnerable,” noted Kenda.

Kenda believes that marriage is a spiritual battleground. “We have an enemy that attacks our marriages and doesn’t want our marriages to be healthy. So, if he can create unhealthy marriages, he’s kind of won the battle.” She wishes that couples would attend proactively - just to keep their marriage strong, rather than waiting until they see problems surfacing.

Having been part of men’s groups for years, Dave realizes that sometimes talking can be hard for men. He appreciated how TMS gave husbands the tools and the space to communicate. “It seemed like a very safe place for men to be able to open up. It’s a good place to learn how to love your wife.”

One of the biggest things Dave and Kenda do to keep their marriage strong is praying daily together. Dave encourages, “Prayer is probably the biggest thing that we’ve learned that helps our marriage. It’s hard to be mad at somebody when you pray with them.”
